Seiki Aikido

Seiki is a Japanese term describing a person’s “true heart” or intention.

Aikido is a modern martial art (budo) with techniques originating from Japanese jujutsu, aikijutsu and kenjutsu (sword arts).  Aikido utilizes an opponent’s energy and aggression by deflection, avoidance and redirection.

We are a unique martial arts school in Cincinnati in that we teach basic concepts and techniques and allow each student to develop himself or herself in a way that best fits their personal goals.

Forcing people into a specific pattern is like trying to fit a square peg in a round hole.  We believe people come to martial arts training for different reasons and we try our best to provide you the proper tools to find your own path.

In addition to an impressive arsenal of techniques, Seiki Aikido students are taught how to punch, kick and grapple in order to deal with the reality of urban confrontations.  It is a perfect discipline for the novice as well as seasoned martial artist looking to enhance their skills and training.

We believe that any technique you learn should be applicable to a realistic street confrontation.  Not only do we practice in a traditional manner, but we also train in street clothes to give you a better prospective of how these methods will actually work.

Whatever your intentions, we believe that a disciplined approach to martial arts training is the key to meeting personal goals.  There is no secret to training .  It’s all about repetition, sweat, pain, perseverance and tenacity.
